Twitch Expression (any skill level) – Adobe After Effects Tutorial

So you want to make things twitch around but hate having to keyframe? Enjoy saving some sweet time with this expression tutorial series.

If you already know a thing or two about expressions skip right to part 6. But if you’re a real n00b goto to part 1 and take it from there. You’ll learn a lot going through all the steps and I’m sure you’ll get through.

Here are all the steps:
Part 1 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dt-6L2z1aeY
Part 2 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZSdIn2EYfk
Part 3 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr2X6zN6rn8
Part 4 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKlgU8HTs9Y
Part 5 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RRam7CVS1M
Part 6 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHNHMHcLqXs

Youtube won’t allow the characters in the expression so… not totally sure how to get you the expression if you need it. But if you pause and look at it you should be able to get it. Any also typing is fun right?

Thanks for watching in have a nice day.

  1. As with most things it can be done many many ways. But maybe the most basic is to use value+time*something on the y part of the position and alter to taste?

  2. Question: I have an idea for any effect whereby lots of animated cresents move from the bottom to top of the screen in different colours as part of a transition. having 2 to 3 cresent starting from bottom every couple of frames in time with some beats to the music. any thoughts on ways of doing it rather than animating each one?
