What is OBS?
Open Broadcaster Software is free and open source software for video recording
and live streaming. Supported features include:
Encoding using H264 (x264) and AAC.
Support for Intel Quick Sync Video (QSV) and NVENC.
Unlimited number of scenes and sources.
Live RTMP streaming to Twitch, YouTube, DailyMotion, Hitbox and more.
File output to MP4 or FLV.
GPU-based game capture for high performance game streaming.
DirectShow capture device support (webcams, capture cards, etc).
Windows 8 high speed monitor capture support.
Bilinear or lanczos3 resampling.
What is OBS Multiplatform or OBS Studio?
OBS MultiPlatform is a complete rewrite of the original OBS from the ground
up, with the main goals of course being multiplatform support, a more thorough
feature set, and a much more powerful API. A very early and simple release is
currently available for Mac.
OBS MultiPlatform will eventually support many of the advanced requested
features not present in the original OBS, such as multiple stream outputs and
scene previewing. It does not have these features in this release.

If anyone has had issues getting OBS to detect ANY audio whatsoever from system audio sources and fixed it please let me know. I have tried every system audio output available in an attempt to get audio from in game to be heard let alone detected at all.

one question when I try to setup my Webcam nothing shows up, but I see my light on the cam on but no picture, any advice?
This is a little unrelated to the video, but I used twitch alerts to set up donation alerts to OBS and when I test it, it works fine, but when someone donates its like it doesn't reach twitch so it doesn't pop up.Any idea why?

hi ive actually used obs for a bit now for league of legends however im having an issue when i capture my client it also makes a large blacks screen where it creates a laggy mouse trail on it around it now ive had this issue before with obs classic but i cant remember how i fixed it any ideas?

TY EposVox, Video was extremely helpful! Also I figured out if you have a weird 4×3 or 16×10 monitor, and you're trying to stream Minecraft, you can stretch it and there's no visible difference, besides the black bars going bye-bye.
THANKS SOOO MUCH!!! I tend to start hopefully streaming tomorrow, and needed to set up OBS. I literally set up everything for my stream to be ready, and it's 10:49pm. I made the "Stream Starting", and "BRB" pictures too. Well, I took an already picture I had downloaded, and made fancy letters on it. I was looking for videos to help, but had no luck because of some of them being out dated, then found this tutorial. I was wondering how to set up NightBot too, but didn't think it was to necessary to do that yet because I am nobody on Twitch right now and really have nothing for it do do but help get rid of spammers, but since you showed how, I decided to set it up. Again, Thanks. Also, side note, I planed on streaming Saints Row: The Third, but forgot it's not installed. Thank god I noticed before tomorrow.
My OBS Studio looks different, the video options in the settings is missing half the things that show in this video. What's going on?
