For those that want to become a twitch moderator in a channel and actually be the right mod. Not just a mod that is given but earned. This is for those streamers plus my channel to follow and use as reference for many users that would love to become mod in a Twitch.tv channel! This is my opinion and this is what I believe a mod should be and what a mod should not be.

You sound like a dick but I guess you have a point! ✌
I just kiss the streamers ass and compliment them all the time
I agree %100 I'm new to twitch and some mods that have been there for years ignore new viewers and are so needy for attention from the streamer they even make more work for them but I recently became a mod for the first time I didn't ask for it but they just mod me so I took it and I try my best to greet and acknowledge every new viewer even if I have to type it 1,000 times every time a new viewer comes in cause it's like irl respect and acknowledgement
I really liked this video!
I try too help on my favorite streamers streams. Even though I'm not a mod.
And there are people trying to get mod without saying; "give me mod."
I wouldn't mind mod, but only if the streamer tells me that I can have mod I'll be like; Okay!
I'm definately subscribing! 😀 <3

Can I be mod?
How do you get mod on a channel with 50k followers. I been there over a year and been subbed. I'm always there and I help out. The mods never update the commands and stuff. I don't wanna be a mod just to have it I wanna help out you know. But since I'm 15 that's probably why he won't mod me 🙁
Dude everything you said in that video I agree with 110 percent!! Literally everything you said I say all the time!!
Can I be mod?

I was appointed to be a moderator recently from a channel and I was pretty nervous on what to do and what not to do. I have learned a lot by watching your video. Thanks 🙂

I became moderator yesterday 😛
Hi, N3WB!
I have neither been on your stream or heard about you before, I just found this video randomly on youtube. 'd like to add that I did find your video informative and useful to an extent, I just don't really know how applicable and/or realistic some of these aspects are, and that's why I have a few questions and constructive criticism to come with.
In the first part of your video you talk about every aspect of which you cannot achieve moderator title on your stream. These terms may or may not be applicable to other streamers moderators, but I get the gist of what you are saying. The second part goes on to tell of the tasks a good moderator is to be expected to conduct and the appropriate behavior after getting the "privilege" of becoming a moderator.
That leads me to the question: when in this video do you actually answer the title you named it? How do you become a twitch moderator? How can you ever show a streamer that you are good at welcoming everyone, spotting problems, banning/timing out when neccesary and being polite? If you do all these things as a random user, aren't you kind of taking the role of a "smart-ass" for acting like a mod when you obviously have not been asigned to the role? Or did I just miss a part about you providing a CV to the streamer at hand?
For example welcoming everyone to the stream once a new viewer enters the stream. Of course one could argue that streams with thousands of viewers use sub-mode more frequently, and therefor can keep it more organized and welcome subscribers instead of viewers or followers for that matter, but if that is what you meant I'd like to add that things like this should really be clarified in such a detailed video.
The moderator position is indeed an important privilege, but some of the extends you suggest moderators are expected to flawlessly follow through with seems over the top, in my opinion.
Thanks for sharing, and good luck with your stream and youtube channel. 🙂
I love this!!! Professionalism to allow fun for everyone!!! You need to have rules to have fun without letting it get out of control. I like this, I want to work hard on something and so I will work hard and get over my conflicts to help Someone else!
